A Plan Built from Listening

Before I talk about solutions, I’ve been asking a simple question:

What’s actually impacting your life right now?

Across conversations, surveys, and time spent in our community, a few things keep coming up again and again:

  • People feel like they’re working hard—but not getting ahead

  • The cost of everyday life keeps rising

  • There’s frustration with a system that doesn’t seem to work for them

  • And a growing concern about the future our kids are stepping into

This plan is built from those conversations.

It’s not about politics—it’s about improving quality of life, helping people live with comfort and dignity, and making sure the next generation has a stronger future.

And it’s still growing. If you haven’t added your voice yet, I’d love to hear from you through my Community Listening Survey.

The 4 Priorities

Responsible Capitalism

  • An Economy that works for workers, small businesses and our communities

More Money In your Pocket

  • Lower costs and higher take-home pay so families and people in the community can get ahead instead of just getting by.

Opportunity & Growth

  • Strong schools, safe communities, and real paths to a better future.

Power Back to the People

  • Transparent, accountable government that actually listens.

What this looks like...

Responsible Capitalism

“We’re all feeling the stretch.”

We need an economy that rewards hard work, supports local businesses, and grows in the way that strengthens - not weakens - our communities.

Michigan should take care of businesses who make a commitment to take care of thir employees and their communities. .

That means:

1) Supporting small and medium sized businesses - the back boan of our local economy

2) Standing with our farming communities and protecting farmland for future generations

3) Encouraging responsible growth, including new industries, without losing what makes our communities special

4) Protecting the land and water we all rely on

5) Making sure success isn't built by cutting corners at the expense of workers or communities

We can grow a strong economy - and still take care of what we've built

More Money in Your Pocket

At the end of the day, this is what people are asking for:
—A little breathing room. Not just lower costs - but more money left at the end of the month.

and with good reason. Too many people feel unheard while decisions are made behind closed doors. If we want a healthier democracy, we need sunlight, accountability, and leaders who work for the public, not special interests.

Below is how I’ll work to give the power back to you in Lansing.

That means:

1) Addressing property taxes and the rising cost of housing

2) Lowering everyday expenses like groceries, energy, and healthcare

3) Supporting energy independence and stability to reduce long-term costs

4) Creating conditions for stronger wages and more take-home pay

5) Building a path where families can realistically keep an extra $5,000-$10,000 a year

This isn’t about one policy—it’s about aligning multiple solutions to actually change people’s day-to-day lives.

Opportunity & Growth

People want to know that if they put in the work, they—and their kids—will have a real shot at a good life.

That starts with strong foundations.

1) Improving education with a focus on real outcomes—not just funding levels

2) Expanding skilled trades, apprenticeships, and career pathways outside of traditional college

3) Creating opportunities for young people to build a future here—not feel like they have to leave

4) Supporting safe communities where families feel secure

5) Make Sure Families Can Build a Secure, Stable Life Here in Michigan

We should be building a Michigan people want to stay in—and move to.

Power Back to the People

One thing I hear constantly:

People don’t feel heard.

That has to change.

1) Increasing transparency in how decisions are made and how money is spent

2) Expanding access to public information so people aren’t left in the dark

3) Making sure community voices are part of the process—not an afterthought

4) Supporting safe communities where families feel secure

5) Continuing to listen—not just during a campaign, but while serving

This isn’t about left vs. right—it’s about making sure government actually represents the people it serves.

This Plan Isn’t Finished

And it shouldn’t be.

The best ideas don’t come from one person—they come from a community.

I’ll keep listening, keep learning, and keep refining this based on what I hear from you.

Let’s Build This Together

What did I miss?
